Earthwoven Gentle Foaming Cleanser: A Detoxifying Elixir for Your Skin

Earthwoven Gentle Foaming Cleanser: A Detoxifying Elixir for Your Skin

Struggling with stressed skin is unpleasant, as many of us have experienced. From trying various products to seeking advice, it can feel like an endless search for a solution that truly works. However, the founder of Earthwoven, Shaleah Lawrence, found a way to overcome her own skin struggles and develop a remarkable product that has been changing lives. And she's only 23!

Shaleah formulated the Earthwoven Gentle Foaming Cleanser, a product that aims to restore confidence and address the needs of sensitive and stressed skin, which is included in the September 2023 MyTreat Wellness Box. Shaleah's personal skin struggles led her to create a cleanser that her skin could handle, free from harsh chemicals that often aggravated her condition.

The Earthwoven Gentle Foaming Cleanser is a gentle and soap-free solution that purifies, clarifies, and restores balance to oily and acne-prone skin types. It boasts a unique blend of natural ingredients, including Oat extract, known for its gentle exfoliating properties that effectively remove impurities without irritating the skin.

Aloe Vera and Cucumber extract, two soothing botanicals, work in harmony to reduce redness, calm inflammation, and restore harmony to the skin. The cleanser's gentle formula preserves the skin's natural oils, improving texture and tone without causing abrasion, making it suitable even for the most sensitive skin types.

We caught up with young and inspiring Shaleah to ask her some questions about her products, business, life, and what self-care means to her.

Tell us the inspiration behind making the Earthwoven Gentle Foaming Cleanser.
A long, painful journey! When my mum passed, I was still so young myself and not properly able to articulate how I was feeling. Therefore, my body took the brunt of the shock and my skin was one of the biggest things that knocked my confidence. I was unable to use soap as it was too harsh on my skin, I also was incredibly sensitive to Sulphates, Parabens or anything synthetic really. So, finding products, especially cleansers became a huge mission. After spending far too much time and money on products, I decided to formulate something that my skin could handle. Once I had tried it and didn’t react, I asked a few other people with skin conditions to try it and there was incredible feedback. After seeing an improvement in my own skin and the confidence boost that it gave me, I decided I wanted to share that boost of confidence with other people who may be suffering these same kind of issues that I was.

Tell us more about your struggles with stressed skin and the best advice you got during that time?
Less is more. Stick with products for at least 8 weeks before you decide if it’s working for you. Expensive does not always mean better. Have patience. Skin is your biggest organ so it needs time to heal and more time to see the results of that healing. “Quick fixes” barely fix the root of the issue.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt from starting and running a business?
You will need strength, determination and pure hard work. I strongly feel as though social media “glamourises” entrepreneurship/owning a business.

What keeps you going?
Losing both of my parents before 18 has forced me to grow up incredibly fast. I started looking after my little sister in 2017. She very much is the reason why I am determined to make a better future for ourselves.

What does detox and self-care mean to you?
First off, “detox” over time has been used in such a way that the meaning has changed. Healthy bodies are detoxing all day, everyday. There really is no way to “speed” this up. Toxins come in many different forms and of course, a build up of too many of these can cause issues. The best thing you can do is maintain a healthy diet, educate yourself on what toxins may be in your everyday products you use and limit them/switch them for healthier alternatives where you can. Long story short, the body will detoxify itself and we can do things to ensure we are helping that process happen effectively as possible.

If you check in with yourself, listen to your body and talk to yourself in a manner you would talk to someone you love the most, you will slowly but surely see the power that self-care/love really holds.

What are some lifestyle changes that can compliment and maintain the benefits of detoxification?
Maintaining a healthy diet filled with leafy greens, proteins, fruits and vegetables will really work wonders for you and have some immediate health benefits. This is also a great way to regulate inflammation, which plays a huge role in detoxification. Detoxification isn’t just for the body; it works on your mind too. Focus on letting go of what no longer aligns with you and your goals, create a safe place for yourself to check in with yourself.

Since there was nowhere to comment on your article about the covid loans been paid back I just want to tell you I totally agree with you. We purchase 3 brand new vans ( which we had never spent over $8,000 on one before) in Feb 2020 the Covid and vans costing $1000 per week to pay off. took the $27,000 loan and anything else just to pay staff and hope we could last, now payment of $400 a week to pay back that loan along with income tax on the so called profit that we dont have and we haven’t even made 10% for the year. Its a real struggle, I guarantee that there will be people out there that wont pay that loan back but because we are honest and pay the struggle will continue. Love your work, sorry for your loss, it can’t be easy but I truly believe they will be raised back to Earth as the Bible says, humans will eventually life forever on a paradise earth.
